Ven. Wonyoung is a Korean Buddhist monk who has been given the nickname “Nurse for the Mind” by young Korean people. In this book, Ven. Wonyoung honestly shares her life story: from her impoverished childhood, with her parents having an extremely bad relationship to the extent that her mother refused to be buried next to her husband after death, and to the time when she practically lost the sight in her right eye due to an illness. She also shares the challenges she has faced as a Buddhist practitioner and tells how she has overcome these difficulties, big and small, in her life so far. Through her stories, she shares a message of hope and an affirmation of life saying, “How lucky I am just to be doing what I am doing now.”
